Red Sox affiliate dumps on Tebow starting his season in minors

Jasen Vinlove / USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

After Tim Tebow got a taste of big-league action during spring training for the New York Mets, the former NFL quarterback who is vying to become a major-league ballplayer is on his way to the minors to begin the season.

The Mets announced Monday Tebow would play in Single-A with the Columbia Fireflies in the South Atlantic League, which led to some discouraging words from a fellow affiliate, the Greenville Drive.

Greenville, the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, continued to lambaste the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner for his baseball efforts.

It appears like Tebow won't have a future in the Red Sox organization after this unfriendly barrage of tweets.
