Nationals' Jayson Werth: Sits Saturday with sore knee

Werth was a late scratch from Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros with a sore knee, The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

The veteran was able to take some fielding practice after the game, and Nats manager Dusty Baker was so concerned about the injury that he didn't even bother finding out which knee was troubling Werth. It seems safe to chalk this one up to a maintenance day rather than an issue that will linger into the regular season. At 37 years old, there are probably a lot of maintenance days ahead for Werth, but in general he seems to be healthier this spring than he's been in a few years.
