Dodgers' Scott Kazmir: Logs five sim innings

Kazmir (hip) threw five simulated innings Thursday and felt "better" following the session, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

Although the left-hander served up a pair of homers, his mechanics were reportedly a lot smoother in this 71-pitch session than in previous outings. This is a pretty sizable step in the right direction, although a timetable for his return to full game action remains a mystery.
