Mets' Matt Harvey: Fastball unchanged in third spring start

Harvey sat at 92-93 mph with his fastball again during his start Wednesday against the Marlins, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.

Analysis:

He gave up two earned runs along with two unearned runs in Wednesday's outing, while he lowered his Grapefruit League ERA to 7.88 in eight innings over three starts. With three starts left before the games begin to count, there is no guarantee that Harvey will recoup his missing velocity before Opening Day. He's now eight months removed from surgery to treat Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and it's possible that he will need to work with a heavier mix of off-speed secondary offerings if his four-seamer lacks its typical effectiveness.
