Red Sox's David Price: Could throw Friday or Saturday

Manager John Farrell says the team will allow Price (elbow) to decide whether he wants to throw Friday or Saturday, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

Analysis:

Price has been steadily improving as of late, so the team wants to put the recovery process in his hands as much as possible. While rushing the southpaw back into action doesn't appear to be the ultimate goal, the Sox would certainly prefer to have him back for Opening Day and throwing would be the first step there. There's still no clear timetable at this point, but it appears that the recovery schedule will be flexible depending on how Price feels on a day-to-day basis.
