Dodgers' Scott Kazmir: Not yet headed for MRI

Contrary to a previous report, Kazmir (hip) is not yet scheduled for an MRI, the Orange County Register's Bill Plunkett reports.

Analysis:

He is working with the team's medical staff Tuesday, and while he could still head for an MRI, no tests have been scheduled at this time. Kazmir was bothered by tightness in his left hip for all but his first start last season, and now he is once again dealing with the ailment that prevents him from turning or extending his body well enough to make all of his pitches. "The frustration is through the roof right now," Kazmir told Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. He now seems like an extremely risky play in standard mixed leagues, as it's possible he won't get healthy in time to make the rotation out of camp.
