Carlos Correa will man the hot corner for the first time in his young career.

The natural born shortstop for the Houston Astros confirmed he will play third base for Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

Cleveland Indians All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor is expected to remain in his original position which is why Correa will shift over down the line. Both are considered two of the best at their positions and will be accompanied by another defensive stalwart in Javier Baez, who will play second base.

Puerto Rico will play Venezuela in its first game on March 10.
