Indians' Edwin Encarnacion: Will serve as primary DH

Manager Terry Francona says Encarnacion will serve as the primary designated hitter this season, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Carlos Santana, the second part of the power duo, will be the primary first baseman. Francona says he will work to find the best days to flip the two sluggers so they can each remain in the lineup on an everyday basis. Encarnacion posted slightly better stats as a first baseman last season, but should be an offensive force no matter the position.
