Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Sentence suspended, free to join camp

Kang's eight-month prison sentence has been suspended for two years and he's now free to join Pirates camp, Jeeho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.

Analysis:

It sounds like Kang's sentence could be dismissed if he stays out of legal trouble over the next two years. Kang was formally changed with his third DUI-related offense in February. He's already said he will participate in Major League Baseball's treatment program, but it's uncertain if that will keep him from any league- or team-imposed disciplinary action.
