Athletics' Jharel Cotton: Continues impressing Friday

Cotton, the frontrunner for the fourth spot in the A's rotation, was impressive again Friday, Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

The young right-hander has been wowing in early workouts and continued his impressive stretch of performances in Friday's session. Cotton's dominance of hitters led manager Bob Melvin to remark that "the deception just stands out with him. He's got an assortment of breaking pitches." Cotton is slated to see his first Cactus League action Tuesday versus the Indians.
