Tigers' Mike Pelfrey: Will pitch in relief Friday

Pelfrey will follow Michael Fulmer on the mound in Friday's spring training game against Baltimore, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Pelfrey is battling for a spot in the rotation this spring, but he's likely behind Daniel Norris and Matt Boyd for the final two spots. Pelfrey could establish himself as a viable long relief candidate, however. He's slated to throw about 30-35 pitches on Friday.
