Diamondbacks' Archie Bradley: In competition for rotation spot

Bradley appears to be in a three-man competition for one of the Diamondbacks' final two rotation spots, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Zack Greinke, Robbie Ray, and Taijuan Walker appear to be the locks, while Patrick Corbin and Shelby Miller may be ahead of Bradley for now in the battle for the No. 4 and No. 5 starter spots. Bradley reported to the team's spring training complex in early January in an effort to get a head-start on the competition for one of the available spots. Bradley has spent extra time working on his mechanics this offseason with the hope of developing more consistency in his delivery, and subsequently, more command of his fastball. As evidenced by his 143 strikeouts in 141.2 innings last season, Bradley has good stuff, but he's still trying to put all of the pieces together as a successful big league starter as he's posted a 5.18 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through 34 career starts with Arizona.
