Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock: Feels fit again, eager to win
Pollock (groin) said he is healthy again and stressed his eagerness to win with the Diamondbacks, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis:
Pollock noted multiple times that he's feeling healthy again, saying his body feels cleaner and more athletic after a diverse offseason workout regimen. This is big for the 29-year-old, who has missed significant chunks of the past two seasons with a plethora of injuries, including a broken hand, a shattered elbow and a strained groin. When he has played, however, the All-Star has been very productive for Arizona, slashing .308/.361/.493 in 915 at-bats since the start of the 2014 season. With questions surrounding the Diamondbacks' aging core, Pollock has his sights set on a productive and healthy 2017.
