Rangers' Adrian Beltre: Injury may keep him out of WBC
Beltre said he's suffered a Grade 1 calf strain, which may cause him to miss the World Baseball Classic, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis:
He sustained the injury on Feb. 14, according to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News. Though he says his status is up in the air, it's likely that Beltre, who turns 38 in April, will at least sit out some games for the Dominican Republic, if not the entire tournament. The veteran has managed to play in at least 143 games in each of the last five years, but injuries like this for someone his age bear monitoring heading into fantasy drafts. His ADP typically rests somewhere in the top 100 and could drop if the calf still plagues him deep into spring training action.
