Twins' Glen Perkins: Set for bullpen session Friday

Perkins (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Perkins threw one Tuesday, his first since the surgery he underwent to repair a torn labrum. He's probably not going to be ready by Opening Day, and a significantly delayed start to the season could make it difficult for him to regain the closer role for the Twins. The team's bullpen picture, and the ETA on Perkins' return to action, should become clearer as the spring progresses.
