Alex Reyes is already working on his comeback.
The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday after complaining of soreness in his right elbow, but MLB's top pitching prospect quickly quashed any fears of an unsuccessful operation with a quick tweet thanking his team and its fans after the procedure.
Reyes underwent an MRI on Tuesday where it was discovered the 22-year-old would likely require surgery to repair a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The surgery is expected to sideline Reyes for the entire 2017 season.
