Nationals' Koda Glover: Will compete for closer job if healthy

Glover will be in the mix for the Nationals' closer spot this spring if he proves he's fully recovered from last season's hip injury, The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

The 23-year-old has the stuff to close, flashing a fastball in 2016 that averaged 96.6 mph despite September struggles due to a torn labrum in his hip. Nats manager Dusty Baker also described Glover on Tuesday as "too bold" at times last year, which points towards him having the aggressive mentality typical of closers, if not the experience Baker prefers in the role. If Glover can demonstrate his hip is no longer an issue during Grapefruit League action, he'll be a very interesting endgame dart in deeper fantasy formats.
