Storen believes Papelbon would beat Harper in a 'legit fight'

If Jonathan Papelbon and Bryce Harper ever took it outside for round two, former Washington Nationals teammate and current Cincinnati Reds reliever Drew Storen has an idea of who he'd put his money on.

"I gotta take Pap," Storen told The Bullpen with David Aardsma last month, according to The Washington Post. "This is a shot in the dark because I don't know either's fighting ability, but the one thing about Pap, when I saw him in person in the clubhouse, as opposed to on the field, he's a really big guy.

"I later found out that he got recruited to play tight end at Mississippi State along with playing baseball. He's a very big human being, so just from that principle alone, I'm going to take the size. And he's got the eyes, he's got the look that he knows how to fight."

Papelbon and Harper's famous dustup came in September of 2015 after Papelbon took exception to Harper not running out a flyout to left field. The two exchanged words in the dugout, resulting in the closer choking the soon-to-be National League MVP against the wall.

An apology would come from Papelbon after the game in which he said that he was wrong and that his emotions got the best of him. The Nationals would suspended him for four games.
