The Washington Nationals added some veteran depth to their pitching staff Friday, reportedly agreeing to a minor-league deal with right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, according to Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports.

The deal includes an opt out on March 27, reports ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

The 37-year-old Guthrie didn't pitch in the majors last season, but made 17 starts in Triple-A, where he posted a 7.17 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP.

Guthrie has ample service time in the majors, however, and showed the ability to pitch a ton of innings throughout his career, logging over 1,700 from 2007-15.
