The Tampa Bay Rays stayed busy Friday, agreeing to a minor-league deal with outfielder Rickie Weeks, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Playing with the Arizona Diamondbacks last season, the 34-year-old veteran hit .239/.327/.450 with nine home runs and 27 RBIs. It was his first full season transitioning to the outfield after appearing in over 1,000 games at second base.

From 2005-2012, Weeks was one of the best offensive-producing second basemen in the National League with the Milwaukee Brewers, hitting a combined .251/.350/.429 with an impressive power stroke, combining for 130 home runs and 377 RBIs. He earned an All-Star nod in 2011 a year after coming off a season in which he hit a career-high 29 home runs and 83 RBIs.
