The Toronto Blue Jays shored up some middle infield depth Monday, reportedly agreeing to a minor-league deal with Gregorio Petit, according to The Athletic's John Lott.

The 32-year-old also reportedly received an invite to the team's big-league spring training camp.

Petit played 89 games for the Los Angeles Angels last season, slashing .245/.299/.348 with 17 RBIs. He displayed impressive defensive flexibility, appearing in five different positions for the Angels.

Toronto currently employs Troy Tulowitzki at shortstop, while Devon Travis, Darwin Barney, and Ryan Goins look set to split time at second.
