The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed outfielder Gregor Blanco to a minor-league contract, the 33-year-old announced Tuesday.

Blanco, who has spent the last five seasons with the San Francisco Giants, will get a spring training invite.

As it stands, the D-Backs employ A.J. Pollock, Yasmany Tomas, and David Peralta in the outfield. With Blanco in the mix, he's expected to compete with Jeremy Hazelbaker for the fourth outfielder spot.

Last season, Blanco appeared in 106 games, slashing .224/.309/.311 with 18 RBIs and 10 doubles over 106 games.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that he was linked to the Detroit Tigers, though it appears he'll opt to stay in the National League West.
