Report: Tigers have been in touch with Blanco, Bourjos

The Detroit Tigers are still looking to address their need in center field, and there's a least two veterans they've kept an eye on.

Tigers general manager Al Avila has reportedly been in touch with both Peter Bourjos and Gregor Blanco, according to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press.

Avila said last week the Tigers have expressed some degree of interest in free agents, but weren't prepared to go out and sign one.

Bourjos, 29, appeared in 123 games for the Philadelphia Phillies last season, hitting .251/.292/.389 with five home runs, 20 doubles, and six stolen bases while striking out 91 times.

Blanco has spent the last five seasons with the San Francisco Giants. The 33-year-old enjoyed a strong 2015 campaign but struggled last year, hitting just .224/.309/.311 with one home run, 10 doubles, and six stolen bases in 106 games.

The Tigers created a need in center by trading Cameron Maybin to the Los Angeles Angels in November, in order to shed his $9-million salary.
