Get ready to say goodbye to one of Wrigley Field's most distinctive features next season.

While the sight of relievers warming in foul territory has become nearly synonymous with the iconic stadium throughout the years, Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts revealed Saturday that the team will move the bullpens to a more traditional location under the bleachers.

"We are going to move the bullpens," Ricketts said at a Cubs convention, according to the Daily Herald's Bruce Miles. "I know it's not popular."

Ricketts cites safety concerns for outfielders as a reason for the Wrigley remodeling, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers, though that may not be the only rationale, as the club is also looking to house a football franchise at the stadium in the near future.

"We intend to bring football back to Wrigley," Ricketts said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Gordon Wittenmyer.

Before moving to Soldier Field in 1971, the NFL's Chicago Bears played at Wrigley for nearly five decades between 1921 and 1970.
