One minor-league player garnering a ton of attention right now is Tim Tebow, and despite the New York Mets' decision not to extend the former NFL quarterback an invite to spring training, that doesn't mean he won't get some playing time.

In regards to Tebow appearing in Grapefruit League games with the big club, Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said: "Too frequently for some and not frequently enough for others. He'll be around," according to ESPN's Adam Rubin.

Alderson confirmed Wednesday after Tebow wasn't part of the team's 13 non-roster invitees that the former Heisman Trophy winner would still receive at-bats with the Mets' major-league club in spring training.

Tebow signed a minor-league deal with the Mets in September after hosting a skills showcase for interested clubs. He was able to crack the Arizona Fall League, but only hit .194/.296/.242 over 70 plate appearances.
