As Giancarlo Stanton moves into the last affordable season of his long-term contract with the Miami Marlins before his salary increases by more than $10 million, the slugger has been tabbed by oddsmakers as 2017's home run king.

Westgate Las Vegas released odds on Monday, listing Stanton as an 8/1 favorite to hit the most home runs in the majors and win the crown in the NL, while Baltimore Orioles teammates Chris Davis and Manny Machado were the favorites in the American League.

Odds to hit most HRs in 2017

PLAYER ODDS HRS in 2016
Giancarlo Stanton 8/1 27
Chris Davis 15/1 38
Nolan Arenado 15/1 41
Manny Machado 15/1 37
Mike Trout 20/1 29
Bryce Harper 20/1 24
Josh Donaldson 20/1 37
Kris Bryant 20/1 39
Miguel Sano 20/1 25
Kyle Schwarber 20/1 0

Stanton, 27, led the NL in home runs in 2014 with 37, but has missed time over the past two seasons with injuries.

Over the course of his career, he's hammered 208 home runs out of ballparks to go along with a .539 slugging percentage.

Free agent Mark Trumbo, who won the 2016 AL home run title with 47, has 30/1 odds to hit the most long balls, while Chris Carter - also a free agent - is listed at 80/1 after tying for the NL lead in home runs with Nolan Arenado last season.
