Report: Nationals showing interest in Tyson Ross

The Washington Nationals are reportedly looking to add to their already deep starting rotation.

While they're considered a "long shot," the Nationals are interested in the services of free-agent right-hander Tyson Ross, sources told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

A day earlier, Yahoo's Jeff Passan reported that Ross had met with the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs, adding that those teams are the favorites to land the starter.

As it stands, Washington's rotation is already one of the best in baseball, featuring Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Tanner Roark, and Tyson's brother, Joe Ross.

Tyson Ross pitched all of 5 1/3 innings in 2016, exiting his first start of the season with an injury. It was later diagnosed as thoracic outlet syndrome, and Ross missed the remainder the season. He was then granted free agency by the San Diego Padres.

Over his seven-year career, Ross owns a 3.64 ERA across 670 2/3 innings.
