With a ton of room in their starting rotation, the San Diego Padres appear poised to add at least one veteran pitcher through free agency.

After San Diego reportedly expressed interest in adding Jered Weaver and reuniting with Jake Peavy, veteran right-hander Colby Lewis is now among the starters on the Padres' shopping list, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Lewis, 37, is the newest name to emerge, although the Padres are still considering both Weaver and Peavy, the latter of which is reportedly very open to a San Diego return after pitching eight years with the team and winning a Cy Young in 2007.

Lewis is coming off a season in which he went 6-5 with a 3.71 ERA in 19 starts. The right-hander has struggled giving up the long ball throughout his career, issuing a whopping 142 home runs since 2010. A move to Petco Park in San Diego could lower that total, however, as the stadium is known for being one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks in the majors.
