Dellin Betances won't kid himself.

Following a two-month stretch as the New York Yankees closer, Betances witnessed Aroldis Chapman return to the Bronx after the left-hander finalized a five-year, $86-million deal with the club Thursday.

That means bumping Betances back to the setup role, which tag-teamed with Andrew Miller last season before the latter was traded to the Cleveland Indians.

"Obviously I've set up throughout my career, so I'm comfortable doing that," Betances said, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News. "My mentality is, whatever I can do to help the team win, that's what I want."

After Miller and Chapman were dealt at the trade deadline, Betances became the Yankees' de facto closer. That being said, it was pretty clear the right-hander felt more comfortable as a member of the three-headed monster, and not recording the final three outs.

Despite his shoddy performances after Chapman was traded to the Chicago Cubs, Betances was still up for remaining closer, if that's what the organization wanted from him.

"I would have been fine closing, but I understand that adding a guy like Chapman makes the team a lot better. I'm good friends with him and we can help each other out."

Not only did Betances see his bullpen-mates take off last season, he had the opportunity to watch them go head to head in the World Series, forcing the 28-year-old to concern himself more with his team's ability to win rather than his own role.

"I've been here three years and we haven't really done much," Betances said. "We've played good baseball, but I want to win. Seeing those guys in the World Series this year, that's what I want to do.

"Whatever it takes to get there, I'll do the best I can."
