The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly agreed to a deal with closer Fernando Rodney, sources tell Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

The 39-year-old reliever is expected to make $2.75 million over the length of the contract, which is littered with incentives.

Rodney has appeared with four teams since 2014 - and could be joining his fifth once details are finalized - but pitched fantastic in a brief stop in San Diego this season. In 28 games with the Padres, Rodney posted a 0.31 ERA with 17 saves, allowing only one run in 28 innings.

With the Miami Marlins and Padres in 2016, Rodney authored a combined 3.44 ERA with 25 saves in 67 games.

Arizona plans to install Rodney as its closer in 2017, per Heyman.

Along with their interest in Rodney, the Diamondbacks have discussed a reunion with reliever Brad Ziegler, who spent six years with the club before being traded to Boston last season.
