MLB players react to Sale's trade to Red Sox

Caylor Arnold-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox made the biggest move of the 2016 offseason, and quite possibly the most ground-shaking trade of recent memory, when they reportedly acquired left-handed ace Chris Sale from the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for a package of prospects including Yoan Moncada.

After news of the deal, shocked players all around baseball shared their reactions on social media.

The 27-year-old Sale's name swirled in trade rumors all offseason, with the Washington Nationals reportedly close to a deal Monday, but Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski obviously had the right pieces to convince the White Sox to make a swap.

Sale was 17-10 with a 3.34 ERA across 32 starts last season, which included 226 2/3 innings and 233 strikeouts.
