Report: Justin Turner drawing interest from Angels

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Justin Turner is the top free-agent third baseman left on the market, and, as such, he's getting some love.

The Los Angeles Angels have checked in on Turner, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Heyman added that a potential deal seems like a long shot, though the California native isn't expected to move away from L.A.

Turner has been with the Dodgers for three seasons as the everyday third baseman. Over that span, he's slashed .296/.364/.492 with 50 home runs. So it comes as no surprise that he "loves" the Dodgers, and "they love him," according to Heyman, and that re-signing him is the most likely scenario.

Early in the offseason, it was rumored the St. Louis Cardinals were interested in pursuing Turner, but they've since indicated they're out on him.
