Cubs agree to 1-year deal with Duensing

The Chicago Cubs made a minor move on Friday, signing relief pitcher Brian Duensing to a one-year, $2-million contract, the team announced.

The 33-year-old last played for the Baltimore Orioles, appearing in 14 games this season posting a 4.05 ERA out of the bullpen. Duensing previously spent seven years with the Minnesota Twins as a starter and reliever, posting a 41-37 record with an ERA of 4.13.

His best season came in 2010 when he went 10-3 appearing in 53 games for the Twins (13 starts) posting a 2.62 ERA and a WHIP of 1.20.
