Dexter Fowler's free-agent decision is going to come down to whichever team provides him with the best opportunity.

Speaking at David Ortiz's charity golf event in the Dominican Republic, Fowler said Friday that he wants to sign with "whoever wants to give me a job," but reiterated his interest in a potential return to the Chicago Cubs, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com.

The Cubs signing outfielder Jon Jay to a one-year, $8-million deal almost guarantees a reunion between Fowler and the team won't happen, but the 30-year-old, switch-hitting center fielder is generating a lot of interest on the open market. His suitors reportedly include the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants.

The Washington Nationals - reportedly in pursuit of Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen - are believed to be suitors for Fowler as well if the club doesn't land the Pirates outfielder through trade.

Coming off a World Series championship with the Cubs, Fowler also enjoyed a very productive individual season, posting a career-best .393 OBP and 4.2 WAR. Across his career, Fowler has demonstrated a knack for hitting well from both sides of the plate (.302/.392/.442 against lefties and .255/.356/.413 versus righties).

It was reported that the 30-year-old is seeking a multi-year deal worth $18 million a season, a significant raise from his $8-million salary in 2016.
