Yoenis Cespedes wants to be in Queens until he hangs up his cleats.

The New York Mets finalized a four-year, $110-million deal with the slugger on Wednesday, a contract that includes a no-trade clause. That clause was the tipping point for Cespedes, because he never wants to leave.

"I said it long before this happened that I wanted to be with this team. I wanted to come back to this team," Cespedes said through an interpreter, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. "And God willing, I will finish my career with this team."

"God willing, and a no-trade clause," general manager Sandy Alderson chimed in.

Even by New York standards, Cespedes is a celebrity. In less than two seasons with the Mets - 189 games to be exact - he's clubbed 48 home runs, driven in 130 runs, was named to the 2016 All-Star Game, and signed two huge contracts.

"I didn't like that feeling of just when I was starting to get comfortable with a team that I could be gone," Cespedes continued. "So that was a very important part for me."

In just five major-league seasons, Cespedes has been around the block, playing for the Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and finally the Mets. Last season, he slashed .280/.354/.530 with 31 home runs and 86 RBIs in 132 games.

So, when Cespedes opted out of the final two years of his previous contract - leaving $47.5 million on the table - the organization knew it needed to get him back.

"This is what we targeted," Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon said. "This is what we hoped for. And to have it come back and be able to get it done this quickly is great.

"New York wants a winner. He obviously makes us win."
