Report: Yankees, Dodgers among 4 teams in 'full pursuit' of Hill

A little over one year removed from pitching in the Independent League, Rich Hill is receiving plenty of interest as he headlines a weak free-agent group of starting pitchers.

The New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros are reportedly in "full pursuit" of the left-hander, according to Jim Bowden of ESPN, who added that Boston and Baltimore are also involved to a lesser degree.

Hill has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors since returning to the league in September 2015, going 14-6 with a 2.00 ERA and 0.93 WHIP across 130 1/3 innings.

While his performance has been impressive, age is a concern with Hill, who turns 37 in March. With that in mind, it's likely he'll land a deal in the two-to-three year range.

There are also durability issues. Hill tossed 100 1/3 innings last season after missing significant time with recurring blisters on his pitching hand, and has only thrown more than 111 innings once in his career - all the way back in 2007, when he topped out at 195.

Brett Anderson, Jason Hammel, Ivan Nova, and Jered Weaver are among the other top arms available on the market.
