Yadier Molina will play in his fourth World Baseball Classic in March, as the agent for the St. Louis Cardinals backstop confirmed to MLB Network's Jon Morosi on Monday he will commit to Puerto Rico for the 16-team tournament in the spring, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com.

In the last edition of the tournament in 2013, Molina owned a .259/.250/.259 slash line in 27 at-bats and helped guide Puerto Rico to a record second-place finish in the competition. They lost 3-0 to the Dominican Republic in the final.

Molina has appeared in every World Baseball Classic to date, making his debut in the inaugural tournament in 2006.

Along with his veteran experience, Molina's offence is expected to make Puerto Rico a strong contender again in the tournament. The seven-time All-Star slashed .307/.360/.427 in 147 games with the Cardinals this past season.
