Free agent Romo hasn't received call from Giants

Kyle Terada / USA TODAY Sports

Over the past nine seasons with the San Francisco Giants, right-hander Sergio Romo has been a consistent force out of their bullpen, and even after posting an ERA below 3.00 for the seventh time, the free agent hasn't heard from the Giants yet.

Romo appeared on MLB Network Radio on Tuesday, where he discussed being a free agent for the second time, how surprised he's been by the teams who've called so far, and how that list hasn't included the only organization he's ever been a part of.

The 33-year-old Romo recorded a 2.64 ERA and 1.07 WHIP for the Giants last season during 40 appearances. He missed three months of action in 2016 while dealing with a flexor strain in his right elbow.

Romo, a former closer, has converted 84 saves during his career - including 38 in 2013 - and owns a career ERA of 2.58.

He made $9 million last season.
