Padres' Jose Ruiz: Added to 40-man roster
Ruiz was added to the Padres' 40-man roster Friday.
Analysis:
A converted catcher, Ruiz enjoyed a good deal of success on the pitching mound in 2016, albeit in a limited sample. He tossed 12.1 scoreless innings at the lower levels with a 14:5 K:BB and two saves. He will continue his development as a pitcher in 2017.
