Phillies' Elniery Garcia: Added to 40-man roster
Garcia was added to the Phillies' 40-man roster Friday.
Analysis:
The 21-year-old was one of 11 players added to the 40-man roster ahead of next month's Rule 5 draft. Garcia spent the 2016 season at High-A Clearwater, going 12-4 with a 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 91:36 K:BB in 20 appearances (19 starts). The lefty doesn't have one standout offering but he has four pitches which could prove to be average or better pitches in time.
