The Colorado Rockies made a gigantic splash at the winter meetings on Wednesday, agreeing a five-year, $70-million deal with Ian Desmond, and now they're turning their attention to acquiring one of the Toronto Blue Jays young starters.

Colorado has expressed interest in right-hander Marcus Stroman, according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi, who reports the Blue Jays aren't willing to trade him for Charlie Blackmon straight up.

The Rockies' rotation finished 13th in the National League in team ERA, while allowing 113 home runs at hitter-friendly Coors Field, so the addition of Stroman and his 60.1 percent ground ball rate would be a welcome addition to the club.

PITCHER W-L GS IP ERA SO HR
Jon Gray 10-10 29 168 4.61 185 18
Chad Bettis 14-8 32 186 4.79 138 22
Tyler Anderson 5-6 19 114.1 3.54 99 12
Tyler Chatwood 12-9 27 158 3.87 117 15
Jeff Hoffman 0-4 6 31.1 4.88 22 7

Stroman, 25, posted a 9-10 record with a 4.37 ERA in 2016, his first full season in the big leagues.

Blackmon could have potentially fit Toronto's need for an athletic outfielder, after the one-time All-Star and Silver Slugger award winner slashed .324/.381/.552 with 29 home runs, 35 doubles, 82 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases last season.

Over the course of his six seasons in the bigs, all with Colorado, Blackmon owns a .298/.348/.467 hitting line with 74 home runs, 251 RBIs, and 101 stolen bases.
