The Atlanta Braves have signed right-hander Jordan Walden to a minor-league contract with a spring training invite, the team announced Saturday.
Despite barely seeing time in 2015 and missing the entire 2016 season due to shoulder issues, Walden is a former All-Star who was effective when healthy.
In 2014, he threw 50 innings out of the Braves' bullpen, owning a 2.88 ERA while recording 62 strikeouts.
As a rookie in 2011, he finished seventh in Rookie of the Year voting.
