Mets' Matt Harvey: Should be ready for spring training
Harvey (shoulder) is expected to be ready for spring training, according to agent Scott Boras, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Analysis:
Harvey resumed throwing Monday, less than four months after having a rib removed to alleviate thoracic outlet syndrome. The 27-year-old struggled throughout the first three months of 2016, posting a 4.86 ERA and 1.47 WHIP before undergoing the procedure. The lost season and history of health issues figure to drive Harvey's cost down considerably in the spring.
