After a record 20 players received qualifying offers last season, only 10 impending free agents were extended a one-year, $17.2-million qualifying offer prior to Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline.

ISSUED QUALIFYING OFFER

Player Pos Team 2016 Salary
Jose Bautista OF TOR $14M
Yoenis Cespedes OF NYM $27.5M
Ian Desmond OF TEX $8M
Edwin Encarnacion 1B TOR $10M
Dexter Fowler OF CHC $8M
Jeremy Hellickson SP PHI $7M
Kenley Jansen CL LAD $10.65M
Mark Trumbo OF BAL $9.15M
Justin Turner 3B LAD $5.1M
Neil Walker 2B NYM $10.55M

If a player rejects the qualifying offer and signs with a new team before the June amateur draft, the team that issued the offer would receive draft-pick compensation. The team signing the player would lose its first first-round pick, unless it's among the top 10, then it would surrender its next-highest pick. Players have until Monday, Nov. 14, to accept or decline.

Last year, Brett Anderson, Matt Wieters, and Colby Rasmus became the first players ever to accept it.

Several impending free agents, including Mike Napoli, Michael Saunders, Kendrys Morales, and Wieters, did not receive a qualifying offer.
