Watch: Bryant scores Cubs' 1st World Series run in 71 years

Tommy Gilligan / USA TODAY Sports

Move over, Harry "Peanuts" Lowery.

Until Wednesday night at Progressive Field, it was Lowery who had scored the most recent Chicago Cubs World Series run when he crossed the plate in the eighth inning of Game 7 in the 1945 classic.

Now, the answer to this trivia question is potential NL MVP Kris Bryant, who came around to score on Anthony Rizzo's first-inning RBI double off Cleveland Indians starter Trevor Bauer in Game 2 of the 2016 World Series.

Bryant's mad dash to history was helped by Indians right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall, who threw to second base in an attempt to nab Rizzo, allowing the 2016 Hank Aaron Award winner to score without a throw.

The Cubs' 1-0 lead through a half-inning of play is their first World Series lead since a 7-6 advantage over Detroit in the eighth inning of Game 6 on Oct. 8, 1945.
