Watch: Old friends Lindor, Baez have fun at 2nd base

Just because they're battling on the national stage for the ultimate glory doesn't mean Francisco Lindor and Javier Baez can't have a little fun.

The Puerto Rican infielders, who were drafted by the Indians and Cubs with consecutive first-round picks in the 2011 draft, had a moment of hilarity after Lindor doubled in the seventh inning. Baez tried to admire Lindor's hairstyle, which the shortstop didn't take "kindly" to, and Lindor then pretended to throw his helmet at his friend. A good laugh was had by all before everyone resumed their positions for the next hitter.

Lindor and Baez both left Puerto Rico for Florida as teenagers, and played against each other in high school. Away from the ballpark, they remain close friends

''It's just unreal that I will be playing against him,'' Baez told The Associated Press prior to Game 1. ''Our families are very close. His family spent Thanksgiving with us two years ago. And as players, it's like we're the same. We play to have fun, and do crazy things on the field.''
