Watch: Pederson spooked when fireworks go off during at-bat

Joshua Dahl / USA TODAY Sports

The celebration might be a little premature at Wrigley Field.

In the second inning of Game 6 of the NLCS, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson stepped into the batter's box to face Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks.

As Hendricks delivered his first pitch, Pederson was spooked by fireworks going off beyond the center-field scoreboard. Pederson stepped out and argued but received little sympathy from home plate umpire Ted Barrett, who called strike one on the pitch.

With a win, the Cubs will advance to the World Series for the first time since 1945.
