Beer-throwing suspect no longer employed by Canadian media outlet

The Postmedia employee who allegedly threw a beer can at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim during the AL wild-card game in Toronto no longer works for the media outlet.

“Ken Pagan has left Postmedia,” spokeswoman Georgia Sourtzis said in an email, according to The Globe and Mail's Jill Mahoney.

Pagan, who worked as a sports copy editor at the Postmedia office in Hamilton, Ontario, was charged with mischief for allegedly throwing the beer can on the field during the Oct. 4 contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and the visiting Orioles.

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, who was next to left fielder Kim when the incident occurred, said the two were also targets of racial slurs from the stands.

Pagan is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 10.
