The Colorado Rockies announced Tuesday that hitting coach Blake Doyle is among several coaches who won't return next season after the club missed the playoffs for the eighth straight year.

Bench coach Tom Runnells, defensive positioning coach Rene Lachemann, and first base coach Eric Young are also not returning, the team said in a press release.

Colorado continued to perform well at home under Doyle's instruction the last three seasons - ranking first in team OPS and second in runs - but the offense struggled mightily away from Coors Field. Since 2014, the Rockies have scored the fewest road runs in the majors while their .234 average and .662 OPS rank second-last in both categories.

The shake-up comes a week after Walt Weiss resigned as the Rockies manager amid rumors of a strained relationship with general manager Jeff Bridich.

Colorado has yet to name a replacement for Weiss.
