Watch: French announcer goes insane calling Martin's homer

Nick Turchiaro / USA TODAY Sports

Russell Martin is getting big-time love in both of Canada's official languages.

The Toronto Blue Jays catcher joined his team's home-run parade over the last three games with a first-inning homer off Texas Rangers right-hander Colby Lewis that put his team up 3-1 in Game 3 of the ALDS. And no one in Rogers Centre was more excited than French-language broadcaster Rodger Brulotte, who's calling the game for Quebec's TVA Sports. The former Montreal Expos announcer serenaded Martin with a cry of "Russell! Russell! Russell!" as Martin - who grew up an Expos fan in Montreal - rounded the bases.

It's not the first time this series that Brulotte's emotional home run calls have gained attention, as his call of Melvin Upton Jr.'s Game 1 homer also made the rounds online.

Martin's homer was the eighth of the series for the Blue Jays, and second of the inning after teammate Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run blast off Lewis two batters earlier.

The solo shot also made Martin become the fourth player in history to homer in the playoffs with four different teams (Dodgers, Yankees, Pirates, Blue Jays). Ron Gant, John Olerud, and Reggie Sanders are the others, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
